Our Groups
Here at Circle of Insight, we harness the rich interpersonal & intrapersonal dynamics of tabletop roleplaying games to cultivate awareness, acceptance, and integration of the self. In particular, we aim to evoke the parts of ourselves that we fear, repress, or yearn to reconnect with.

Unless otherwise specified, our groups are open to adults (18+) of all levels of experience, from beginners to seasoned players and game masters alike.

Upcoming Campaigns
Insight Beyond the Witchlight
Our Spring Group starts in late January 2026, and will meet weekly on Tuesday nights from 6 to 9pm at our office in Port Washington, WI. Guided by the pre-written adventure, Wild Beyond the Witchlight, our campaign will carry us through an enchanted carnival to fey realms, both whimsical and perilous, on a search for the parts of ourselves lost in days gone by.
Your Game Masters
We’re Megan and Peter, co-founders and co-facilitators of Circle of Insight, a therapy group that harnesses the creative energy of tabletop roleplaying for therapeutic self-discovery. During our clinical training, we bonded over a shared love of Dungeons & Dragons, discovering how collaborative storytelling can help us integrate parts of ourselves we often find hard to accept. Through Circle of Insight, we aim to create a space where roleplay serves as a pathway to introspection, storytelling fosters connection, and every adventure becomes a step toward self-acceptance and growth.
FAQs
Is a TTRPG therapy group right for me?
Our groups are meant for anyone seeking deeper insight into their inner world. However, TTRPG group therapy is not intended as a substitute for individual therapy and is not a sufficient treatment for severe mental health concerns. Though we hope to create a welcoming environment for all, we encourage you to seek appropriate individual mental healthcare prior to joining our groups. Please feel free to reach out and we'll be happy to discuss whether it might be a good fit for you!
Do I need to know how to play?
No TTRPG experience is necessary. We will walk you through character creation and game mechanics, meeting you wherever you are in experience level. Although the rules can seem daunting, our focus is really on roleplaying and discovery. Simply come with an open mind and a willingness to step into a different world!
What supplies do I need?
We will supply everything you need for gameplay, including dice and paper character sheets. If you are an experienced player and have your own stuff, please feel free to bring it! It is not required, but we strongly recommend bringing a notebook or journal to log your personal notes and insights you gain along the way.
How much do your groups cost?
The full-cost rate for a 5-hour one-shot is $10, while our 16-week campaign group is $100. However, we are committed to providing an accessible experience for all. If our full-cost rate presents a financial burden for you, we will do our best to find an option that works for you.
What is your clinical training?
We are both near completion of our Master's level academic and clinical training at Mount Mary University, with expected graduation May 2026. As part of that training, we provide psychotherapy to a variety of clients, through individual, family, and group settings.
What is a "Pre-license Therapist?"
As pre-license providers, we have completed the bulk of our Master's level training and provide therapy under the license of an experienced supervisor, with whom we consult regularly to ensure the most up-to-date, evidence-based care.
